Bailey listened and as he spoke was annoyed at herself, what if this was a personal thing? She was too curious for her own good. Her eyebrows raised and fell with the information. She smiled softly and her face refelcted a little concern since he looked embarressed.
Wow. I'm- I'm sorry, Riley. I didn't mean to intrude or anything, but, I'm, youknow, glad you told me...
She said somewhat awkwadly.
Bailey was starting to like this guy, and she'd hung around with some bad guys in the past, but he seemed nice, and she's like to get to know him, so Bails hoped she hadn't screwed it up already.

"You know most girls when I say remotely like that usually bolt," Riley said laughing. "And you can probably figure out who they bolt to... the bad boys." He looked away from her briefly. "I'm just surprised that so many girls want to be with someone that doesn't seem to have strong family ties. Then again I suppose you're different from them?"
The question came from his personal hope and curiosity. He knew that she probably liked him as a friend no matter what, but just the same he hoped there was a possibility of it being more. Of course as he waited for a reply to his question he feared that he might have ruined that possibility altogether.

Bailey laughed. She could imagine girls would find an excuse and leave. But Bailey wasn't that sort of a girl. She smiled and after his final question replied, still laughing.
Really? And I had you picked as a bad boy.
She said, her face expressing that she was teasing. She hesitated, locking her coffee-hued gaze on his eyes, then added to her words.
I guess I am a bit different. I'm still here, aren't I?
She was still joking around, teasing, but her stomach lurched. She felt slightly sick, and throught of her family ties, her past.

"Yeah, you do happen to still be here," he said as he allowed himself to laugh some. Only after he replied he noticed that something changed with her and he started to feel uneasy. Perhaps she was just trying to be nice he thought as he started to feel insecure about things between them. "Did I say something wrong?"

Bailey, whose gaze had settled on the floor, turned up to meet Riley's eyes. She smiled slightly and her hands touched her stomach.

There was something about Bailey's behavior that kept him wondering even though she insisted that she was fine. He decided to just drop it though just the same. If she didn't want to tell him what was wrong it was good as fine.

Bailey couldn't bear embaress herself in front of him, so she held her head hight and stepped into the gym foyer.
So, where are we headed?
She asked, her gaze lingering towards the place she had stashed her surfboard.
